Today I saw a brand new left over '07 Silverado Classic 2500 (EXTD cab, 2WD, long bed, LT2 trim) with an 8.1 liter big block and 6 speed Allison transmission, on sale for $ 27k and change. There is probably not too many new ones left at this point.

Sure, 9 MPG is exactly what I need right now.

 

But seriously, if one needs to haul a heavy trailer, this truck would be perfect. Regular gas is way cheaper than diesel now (about 20%), and a similar diesel truck would be about $ 10k more to buy.

Does 27,000 sound a little steep for an old model that they can't sell. It does to me, but then again any new truck sounds spendy to me.

I suspect that the only reason it has not been sold is that it is a 2WD model. I am sure that the asking price is negotiable, but the truck's sticker is around $ 34k.

 

On the plus side, no AFM on this one.
