New Member To The Site

Hi everyone. My name is andy, i have a 1999 gmc 4x4, about 121,000 miles, 5.3L V8 extended cab short box, access roll-up tonneau cover. I live in south eastern Wisconsin, but go to school in minnesota

 

i have magnaflow cat back, dual exhaust, wheatly 91 octane performance tune, nelson LS1 fan harness, 2001 camaro SS electric fans, AEM brute force intake. Also have 1000w rms pioneer system in my truck, with a custom underseat box, 10" infinity sub, and a 2 farhad capacitor. Stock rims, and falken racing zx-04 tires. running regular 5w-30 in the motor, and synthetic fluid in everything else, just had the trans rebuilt and had the beast sunshell put in.

 

Next mods are: Long tubes, cam, new timing chain, high flow oil pump, and some rims/tires

 

 

My question is, im goin on a 1000 mile road trip, and i live 350 miles from home, and ive driven there and back about 30 times no problems ever. Is it wise to go get an inspection? i just had my coolant flushed and my heater core flushed and then backflushed, and then flushed again after some noises, but other than that everything has been kept in good mechanical condition.

 

If i take it to the dealer is there somethign i should ask for to get it just checked up ?

 

Heres a list of everything done within the last 6 months:

-Trans Rebuild, and flush

-Front and Rear differential Flush

-Coolant flush

-oil and filter (of course)

-Lube fittings

-Brand new power steering pump (synthetic fluid)

-Newer brakes (fronts were done a year or so ago)

-New shocks

-Brand New tires

- I have new injectors, no time to install them

Welcome, and it's never a bad idea to get an inspection, but it sounds like you don't need one.

Sounds to me like you have the maintenance of your truck pretty much under control so you probably would not need an inspection. I just took a 2000 mile round trip in my brothers 2000 1500 that is in less then desirable running condition and we made it just fine, so you should be all set.

thanks guys. yeah its been a good truck, bought it with just over 89k on it, and its got more than enough power as of today, but the bug is biting and i want to do more performance mods

Well here it is, i dont have a lot of pictures really, im going to start taking some more now that summers coming. I have a lot of appearance mods coming this summer, valance, grills, fog lights, and a custom ram air scoop, made out of carbon fiber or fiber glass, i am taking a composites class and they are teaching every which way to build and make stuff. Plus tail lights, and head lights, and i really want rims and tires, but same size maybe just 18" rims
