Need Some Full-size Lift Help.....

Guys before I get slammed too much about the search function, I really need some help on lifting my fiance's '06 Sierra Classic Extended Cab 2wd. She doesn't want it lifted too far but just enough to run a nice size tire and it look proportioned.

Right now we are looking at the following:

2.5" Pro Comp Lift Spacers for the front coils

2" lift block for the rear

I am hoping to get it high enough to squeeze 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapler's underneath it on the stock wheels. This should be able to be done with this setup I hope.

Now for the questions:

1. Stylintrucks has the best deal on this setup, but they only sell skyjacker 2" lift blocks but the blocks don't include u-bolts. How am I suppose to lift it without the bolts?

2. Will the stock shocks and struts extended far enough for this lift or will they need to be replaced?

3. Also, will this keep a close to stock ride with this setup?

Sorry guys I am not trying to sound stupid on this subject but I have always lifted mid size trucks and never a full-size. I have a '05 Colorado that is dropped but I want to help get my soon to be wife's truck where she will be happy with it. I really hope you guys can give me some advice on how to get this accomplished for her so I can get the parts on the way this week.

You should be able to keep a moderatly stock ride with that, I would advise better showcks but the stockers should work alright... 285 should fit but you may have rubbing when your off-road or hit a pothole, or anything else that give the suspension a good workout. If this is purely for looks its a good setup.

Yeah this is completely for looks! ;) I can't get her to let me get her truck remotely dirty otherwise I will be the one washing it and waxing it afterwards. lol! I think I might see how the stock shocks work and if aftermarket ones are needed then I have no problem spending a little more money.

Any other comments or suggestions guys?

The coilspacers sound easy to do, but unless you have a spring compressor its not... Oh and you can buy longer U-Bolts pretty much anywhere.

If your gonna go with a 2.5" spacer in front id recommend just going with a 3" lift. I think ProComp has it. They might even have shocks in the kit to. I have 2" spacers in mine and dont really like them.

Fabtech has a nice spindle lift too. I don't dislike my spacers, but theyre not gonna make it look lifted per se....

So guys, would going with any of the suggestions above over stress the cv joints? I'd be looking to get a couple more inches of lift on my Silverado.

Id recommend a 3" lift by ProComp or Fabtech spindle lift before id say get spacers. The lift would come with a 1" block for the rear and everything youd need to install. There wouldnt be any more stress on the CV joints either. Dont forget an alignment right after you do it.
