Hello, I'm new to this forum and im gunna start off by asking a question. I own a 2006 Silverado 2LS(?) Crew Cab 4x4. Under 2LS options it says I have a locking differential. Is there a button or a combination of things I have to do to get it to lock in or is it automatic? I searched the forum for this subject and didn't find anything. Thanks for the help!

Search G80, tons of stuff should come up.

Basically, it's an auto locking diff made by eaton that will lock when there is a certain difference in RPM (100?) between the two rear wheels.

Yup...it will lock if there is a 100rpm difference between the two rear wheels, BUT it automatically unlocks at 20mph.

Check your RPO code sticker in your glovebox. Look for G80 option code. If you have that code, you have the Eaton differential.
