Zembonez Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Weather is all good here in Texas outside of a little rain here and there. Spring storms are the norm here. Nothing that should have affected your truck though... Good luck in getting it soon... Damn, I hate to wait!
Darkanion Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I live a little north of Dallas (about 30 miles or so from the Arlington plant I'm guessing your truck is being built at). We've had some storms the last week or two, but nothing that should stop production... That said... We've also had some hail and tornados in the area, too... But, I haven't heard about Arlington being hit with any of that. So, there again, you're probably safe. I'd call the dealer and ask them for the status. They should be able to look it up on the computer and see if it's been built yet, where the truck is (if it's already been built), etc... It wouldn't surprise me if the strike with American Axle has possibly caused some delays. But, I'm not sure if that strike has impacted production at the Arlington plant. EDIT : By the way, Jim, aren't you about 250 miles south, down around San Antonio?
SilveradoLAX7 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I'm also about 30 miles north of the Arlington plant, and we got some decent wind and hail last night. I think the local news said there was a pretty good band of hail that ran from DFW airport down through Arlington and Irving. No tornadoes in that area that I know about. Also, with the amount of hail we get in this area, I'm sure the plant has more than enough precautions in place so that hail is a non-issue. -Jay

kpruitt Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I have a friend who ordered a 08 HD and the dealer told him that it will take longer than usual because of the axle strike. This was about a week ago. I also heard today that the strike ended but dont know if thats true.
Darkanion Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I didn't catch that you ordered a Silverado, the first time through your message. I'm pretty sure the Arlington, Texas, plant builds SUV's... Back in the day, they built pickups. But, that was quite a few years back, if I remember correctly.
