hey, I have a nnbs crewcab. I was looking at the subthump boxs but I was wondering what would sound better/louder two 10 inch jl audio w3v3 which need .60, or a 12 inch w3v3 which need 1.250.

thanks for the help.

hey sorry, I just remembered what do you think about capacitors? I used to work at circuit city road shop and I have installed a ton of capacitors and they served their purpose. I saw a thread awhile ago about people debating they are a bandaid and they dont work and so on.how do you do a big 3 upgrade on a NNBS?? Thanks

Doing the Big 3 is the same on all vehicles

Alt positive to Battery positive (optional fuse)

Battery Negative to Chassis ground

Chassis to Engine block

Depending on the battery you have you might have to buy new battery terminals to give room for the extra ring terminals. If you're going to fuse the wire just get an inline fuse rated for the max capacity of the wire.

I did this to my dad's nnbs Sierra as his lights dimmed pretty bad, after this no more dimming :) .

If doing this doesn't solve problems a cap might be needed; however, this should definitely be done first.

I'll try to pm you a link that helped me when I first attempted the Big 3 upgrade

As for the subs I can't be much help as I'm not an audio guru :D

Edit:  didn't realize this thread was like 8 months old :thumbs:

if you are still wondering. to your first question. 2 subs move more air than one. so i would get the two tens. as for the question about the cap. it depends on what amp you have. in my 2007 Chevy silverado nbs ext cab i have two kicker 08 l5 12s and a jl audio 500/1v2. i dont have any problems with the lights dimiing

Damnit, that is not what I wanted to hear. I have a 500/1 and have had dimming from the beginning. Even when the volume is moderate you can see it. Thats why I keep my lights off as long as possible because of the ghetto effect, embarrassing. I have had the amp re-grounded and the big three done and its still the same crap. Where could I possibly go from here? Bad amp, bad voltage regulator, bad battery, at this point it seems like it could be anything. Whats worse if the problem is in the trucks electrical system, I could never get it taken care of as in the dealers eyes I have added an electrical strain/load.

Hey, Thanks for all the reply's.. i have done a lot since my first post.. added a capacitor and am running 2 10 inch mtx 5500s(got them for free) other than that..i have NO dimming at all which is what i was looking for because its probably not good to have HIDS flicker(my friends do it really bad),that may cause a ballast go bad pretty quick. other than that now im debating on keeping my down firing box while getting 2 10inch w3v3s?? or ditching the box and building a custom forward firing for two 12inch w3v3s.

Thanks again ill keep you guys posted and take pictures of my BIG 3 upgrade this weekend.

thanks

Travis
