Question For Those Of You With A Pioneer Avic-d3

I had mine installed over the weekend and the 'night' function for the navigation was not working, so I look it up in the manual and figure the guy didn't hook the orange/white wire to the lights. Just got back from talking with him and he told me that everytime he hooked it up, it blew the fuse. So he supposedly called tech support who told him there is an issue with the NBS Chevy/GMC computers that cause that to happen. Sounds like BS to me, but I wanted to check around before I raised too much hell. Anyone ever heard of this problem?

Sounds fishy to me too. I just put one in last weekennd in a NBS silverdo. Without digging up manuals I beleive that is the illuination wire? Based on your description it seems obvious but just checking.

Did you use any of the specialized harnesses for the install? PAC or Metra? I used the PAC 0S3 - It kept the Onstar and all chimes. I hooked up all wires / no issues. Everything works.

You can go to the diagnostic screen to confirm the the illumination isn't working I think too.

Go to NAV menu / System / Hardware / then the button on the top left. 2nd one from bottom if I recall. That should flip as you turn the lights on / off.

You can check to see if the VSS wire was hooked up correctly there too. The pulse will move as you start driving. If that one is not hooked up make them fix that too. What a difference that makes. Mine works much better.

Have the installer do the job that you paid for. I'd be annoyed.
