Launching On Street

If im racing on just street and dont have any traction issues since the toyo's tread, is launching in 4wd helpful at all or sould i stay in 2wd and also turning on tow/haul big advantage for me? Also if i do launch in 4wd will my stock T-case do fine with brake torque launching?

unless your spinning in 2WD, id keep it there...less drivetrain power loss.

 

as far as tow/haul, it should help out the shifts a little bit.

Matt, I'm not sure how much actual racing a 5.3 4x4 truck is capable of but launching on dry pavement in 4WD is asking for breakage.

A ton of guys at the track launch in 4-hi. Some running boost/Nos on the stock transfer case. I am no way endorsing doing so in case you do break something, but it is one of the tougher built parts of the drive train.

Launching in 4wd on the street is VERY hard on the tierod ends and they will break. The guys launching in 4wd at the track are prob using beefed up tierods

I like my 4x4 so I never drive on road with it just off road in 4x4

I rarely even use 4x4 off-road.
