Factory Alarm On 08 Avalanche

I have the factory alarm and remote start on an 08 Avalanche. when I lock the truck with the remote and leave it parked outside in the sun, after about an hour of sitting the alram is triggered. The doors, tailgate and hood are all closed - I double checked. Also, after the alarm stops honking after 2 minutes or so when I go to unlock the doors with the remote I get 3 horn honks. Anyone know what's going on?? Thanks.

In addition to the alarm going off, I started getting a random "Hood Open" message in the DIC. Armed with this new info, took it back to the dealer (couldn't duplicate problem on first visit)and they found a chaffed wire at hood latch switch connector causing short to ground. Replaced hood latch switch per PIT4653 (anyone know what this is?) and everything seems to work OK now.

Looks like a PI that just came out yesterday. If the truck thinks the hood is opening it will set off the content theft alarm.
