98 Blazer Won't Start

parked it friday everything was normal, sunday the battery was dead( brand new), hooked the charger up to it and tried to start it,it acts like it wants to but won't. fuel pump cycle's through correctly and there is good pressure in the line. the security light on the dash remains on all the time, i was told it had been unhooked by the previous owner. It has the 4.3 v-6. anyone have a idea whats going on with it? thanks in advance for any and all help.

Doesn't make much sense. What would he have been trying to accomplish? Normally, if the security light is on and the car has starting issues, it points to the possibility of a bad ignition switch. Might want to have that checked.
