Suburban Rear Air Conditioner Lines

Uh oh... here I go. Ive got a 96 Suburban. Black with maroon interior. Can you imagine how hot that gets? Now imagine it with no A/C! I bought it from the P.O. (my boss) who had allowed his DARLING daughter to drive it. She took it out on the highway and blew out a tire. Guess which tire it was? It ripped the lines off the rear heater core and off the rear evaporator. The evaporator is destroyed, but the lines appear to be OK. The problem is, the ends of the evaporator are stuck on the end of the hoses. I cant force the fittings to come loose! Is there a trick to doing this or am I screwed? I really don't look forward to replacing the lines all the way from the front, if that is what I must do. I think i have to remove the inner fender up front to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its humid as hell and getting into the 90s and even with the windows down it gets pretty hot! (remember black truck with red interior!!)

I feel your pain Torque454.

I also have a 96 Suburban and the A/C is no longer working due to a leak at the joint from the long lines that run under the body to the evap core. I have been hesitant to try and disconnect this joint as I have been told that they never come apart without damaging the hard line.
