Exhaust Systems

Ok this may be a stupid question but I seem to notice this issue going on with alot of trucks, I have dual out the rear flowmasters on my Sierra and noticed the left exhaust pipe is starting to sag alittle bit or is lower then the other side, when I first installed these they were perfectly straight and even but now the one side is alittle lower, another guy in my neighborhood has dual out the rear on his Dodge Ram and I noticed the one side sagging quite considerably, so I wasn't sure if this was normal or if I installed it wrong or what the deal is, if anyone knows please let me know, I mean it's not massively sagging but its noticeable that they are not level with one another.

My guess is that one just got bumped or something. It happens. Just tighten it back up with another hanger or clamp or something so it's level again. I don't think it's anything you've done wrong, just stuff happens over time.

If you have a split dual system (using the stock single cat and a 1-in and 2-out Flowmaster muffler), most aftermarket systems and those built by local muffler shops use the stock hangers on the right and add new hangers on the left. I imagine the new hangers on the left are different and possibly not as good as the original GM hanger. Another thing to consider with the split dual is the RH pipe runs more or less straight back, while the LH pipe has to make an S-bend and cross over the truck. This means the LH pipe is a lot heavier.
