What Does This Wire Do?

Recommended Posts

I was at my friend's shop working. He has about 9 hunting dogs. Well one or a few of them decided to try and eat my truck.

They chewed the cover for the trailer connector and pulled this wire down (it mounts to the back of the plug harness box) and has a resistor(?) attached to it.

What is this wire and what is it for?

Do I need to replace it?

Thanks!

Its for a third brake light on a trailer.

You don't need to replace it,Its suppose to be by itself like that.

Also thats not a resistor on the end,Its just a connector.

BTW...If any dogs ever decided to "eat my truck" they wouldn't be living much longer  I'm not a big dog person as it is!
