Engine Won't Shut Down

Hey all,

Last year I bought an 1989 Sierra 1500. It had a 305 TBI bolted to a 700R4. About 3 months after owning it the 305 decided to die. Started burning metric tons of oil. We pulled it out and did a compression test on it to find that 5 of the 8 cylinders had next to no compression. We tore the block down to discover that the rings were fried, crank was trashed and the left head was cracked. Rather then doing an expensive rebuild on a 305, I found a 350 from another sierra which was also TBI and it came with an ECM. Total cost, 200 bux.

Well we got the engine, tossed it in my truck and it runs great. New problem is after driving it for a while, you turn the key to the off position and the truck just keeps running. Its not dieseling, its idling. If you hit the throttle the engine will rev as if the key was in the on position. I figured that the truck is an 89 so the ignition switch is probably spent and needs replacing. I picked one up for 25$ but to be honest I am not sure where its located on the steering collum.

Anyone have an image of the breakdown of the 1989 sierra's collum or even any direction as to how to get to the ignition switch?

Sorry for the long background story.
