Hey,

I'm strongly considering the Gen5 lockpick and have read lots of info here, but I'm confused about the Gen 3 vs 4 vs 5? What are any known issues with them and would you recommend it?

Cheers Primo.

I've got a Lockpick IV which I got primarily to allow address entry and xm category changes while moving. It works exactly as described and I have not had a single issue in 6 months.

I have been wondering the same thing. I can't decide which one to order, but I definitely want one. All I want is the backup camera and address entry. Is the GMX322 worth the extra cost over the Gen 5?

I tried the Lockpick....I didn't like it as much as the iSimple. The problem with the Lockpick is that you can't control you iPod as much as the iSimple. With the iSimple you can see scroll through each playlist and use all the functions of the iPod. The Lockpick only allows you to work with the playlist...you can't scroll through the Artest, Album, etc.

Since they are the same amt of money the iSimple is a better deal! You can pick them up at Bestbuy...

Primo - It will unlock the Nav. I am not sure if you can watch a DVD on the fly never tried. I am pretty sure there is product that iSimple uses that will allow you to do this.

I have the iPod Lockpick installed on an 08 Avalanche. The one reason I selected it over the iSimple is that you don't have to remove the radio (and trim) to install. Just open the glove box all the way, make a couple of connections and in 5 minutes or less your iPod works through the OEM radio. This device doesn't control the nav and other features though, just the iPod. You'll need one of the other devices to unlock nav, etc.

You guys dont have a heapphone jack for your Ipod in the 08's? I have never had a ipod before but now my dmax has the heapphone jack so that I can play everything in my truck through my ipod...

I have the GMX320 lockpick and it works perfectly. I use the rear cam, xm category lists, nav in motion, and Raytel video bluetooth kit with mine. Mine can't play DVDs.
