Husky Mud Guards

Dear (me)

First let me thank you for purchasing Husky Liner products. We also thank you for taking the time to contact us with your oxidizing issue. Without customer feedback such as yours, we may not recognize areas that need imporvement.

We do apologize for the issues you have had with the fasteners we provided in our mud guard installation kit. We have successfully used black zinc coated fasteners with our mud guards for the past 10 years. Obviously, based on the photo you have provided, the coating is not preventing rusting on your fasteners.

There is good news though! In a search for a new fastener that combined the washer and screw in a 'single' unit, we descoverd that a new OEM appoved finish is available that is 10 times more resistive to oxidation than our black zinc coating. We are currently in the process of integrating this fastener into our mud guard installation kits. Please find 10 of these new style fasteners included in this envelope.

Once again we thank you for your purchase and feedback. If you should have any further issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Note: I neglected to mention that I have 4 Husky Mud Guards. I am sure if asked they will send more.

Cool. Good companies usually will send out new hardware. Every time I've broken/lost/had a bolt break on me I've always gotten some free ones in the mail. It's good to see that Husky is no different.

That's really wonderful. I've been wanting to pick up a set of rear mud guards (mostly to keep stones from chipping the hell out of my paint) and knowing this, I'll probably get Husky ones now.

Good to hear they took care of your problem. I also have the husky mud guards. Anyone who is thinking of buying them I would say go for it, however be sure to use the supplied clear plastic that goes between the splash guard and your paint if you do not the little bit of flexing they do will beat up your paint. Ask me how I know  . I used the pushpins in factory holes rather than the provided hardware and that may make a small difference in flex.

Am I the only one that gets Jason and Josh's trucks confused all the time?

Thanks for the compliment. Our trucks are very very similar but there are definitely things I like more about yours than mine. I like your wheels better but I got a steal of a deal on mine so I couldn't let them pass.

Do the push pins hold it secure? Any worries? I'm not too crazy about drilling into my truck.

Kudos to you man. I would have just driven down to Ace to pick up some stainless steel screws. It's people like you that help out fools like me.

I have had mine for about 2 years with no issues other than:

1. you have to drill new holes in your mud guards as the holes in them do not line up with the factory holes. So unless you can make a handy template you can elongate the holes or trial and error. I elongated them.

2. the pushpins dont hold the rear as well as the bolts that come with it would because you only have 2 attachment points so the inner most part of the guards flex quite a bit. as i stated above use the supplied clear plastic to protect your paint. i didnt think i needed it and it beat the heck out of my paint.

i am happy with them and not having holes in my bed. i just bought some flares though so eventually these are coming off and a new set or brand i will get.
