Auto Temp Control Question

Got into the truck the other day, it was fairly cool out (~60 degrees) and with the auto temp control on the A/C light was lit. Though I highly doubt A/C was needed, would it be really running the system? I actually think the cab was calling for heat since the arrow towards the feet was lit.

 

Does anyone konw if the truck automatically turns on/off the A/C when needed? Can the light be on even if the A/C system is not running?

it runs the a/c almost all the time to dehumidify the air and for "comfort"...even when the heat is on it is blending

I think that I read somewhere that it will run the AC until the temp is down to the upper 40's outside.

Thanks, I'll have to keep an eye on it going into the colder months and see what happens.

A\C is inhibited below 45 degrees.
