Fender Flares

Has anyone pulled their fender flares to clean out out the dirt, sand, gravel, dust and whatever else might be behind them? It has been on my to do list for last several years but haven't got to it yet. It looks like you could just pop the tabs and pull it off, probably tape on the backside. I don't want to go to the trouble and find out later that they do not mount up snuggly.

I would pass on it if I were you. I can see it turning into more trouble than its worth.

They are taped on, so pulling them off is no easy task. You'd also have to take all the old tape off of the flare, and put new tape back on to re-install them.

Yea it has that foam 3M tape and those 'christmass tree' push clips that you cant resuse. So you would have to buy new clips, pull off the old fender, clean off all the old tape, apply new........its a pain. I had to do all four when my truck got hit. Its a pain.

personally I thought they were an eyesore so I took them off. 3m tape and a couple plastic body rivets hold them in place. I took mine off when my truck was a week old, if they have been there awhile I would CAREFULLY use a heat gun to loosen up the tape first before you just rip them off. It will take a little muscle to get the tape to let go.
