Need Some Suggestions On Leveling My Truck

I've almost ordered the rough country leveling kit so many times but never pulled the trigger and once I got my 22s I was seriously considering just dropping the back either with 2inch drop shackles or just removing the 1 1/2 block under the springs. But I don't really want to lower it and in the winter i'm putting my stock 18s back on and I was considering putting larger/more aggressive tires on those rims. So I took some pictures and using a my floor jack to raise the front of my truck, and used a tape measure on the fender. So Im wondering what looks the best???

If you're going to be switching back and forth between 22s and 18s, i'd say leave it stock. I'd normally be all about leveling it (even with 20s), but for some reason it's just not grabbing me with the 22s. If you weren't going to be switching back and forth, i'd say go for the 2" drop shackles. that would look perfect with the 22s.

I think the 1.5" or 2" looks the best. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can get an 1.5", no more, out the stock keys.

I agree. I like it at 2 inches. Sinkhole, I am correcting you :o) The GMT900's do not hat T-bars to crank, so only way is to buy a leveling kit.

I say sell the 22's, put the 18's on with some nice meaty tires and do a 2-1/2" front, 1" rear Truxxx Level-Lift.

22's don't belong on a 4x4 truck IMO. :dunno:

Im sure 15 years ago allot of people didn't think 18s belong on 4x4 trucks. Im sure 18s with some meaty tires would look good, I mean I have said before I like how they look on your truck. I have a question and I swear im not trying to be a smart ass at all, I seriously want to know, is it that you hate 20s or 22s or is it that you hate the tires being so low profile? I mean if some one put a a lift on a truck and had some 20s with 35 inch tires making the side walls 7.5 inches(the same as the 7.5 inches a 33 inch tire has on a 18 inch rim) would you still hate it?

Side note: I see Gus Frerotte is the new starter, I guess anything is an up grade over jackson.

Yes, I hate low-profile tires. 20's look ok on lifted trucks with meaty tires, but anything more than 20" look ghetto to me.

I am sure (and am willing to bet) Childress did NOT make that decision to bench TJ, he is too stubborn. I am sure Zygi told Childress to do it. They needed to sell 3000+ tickets to avoid a blackout and the fans hate TJ. Zygi is trying to avoid the first blackout in over 15 years.

Childress's days are numbered here in MN, TJ may as well start filling out applications at Taco Bell, you don't even need to speak english working there. :D

Longing for the days of Mike Tice? With that running game and O-line even a average QB should have some success in that offense, I never knew what they were thinking with TJ, he looked lost out there and Berrian Got his money and now it looks like he's taking the year off. Oh well Im sure the vikes will get at least 4 wins this year playing the bears and lions 2 times. Rex Grossman is just sitting on the bench you guys should scoop him up. ha ha :dunno:

anyway sorry you hate my rims so much but I think I'm gonna keep them, I get compliments on them all the time and 90% of the time its from non ghetto individuals but the other 10% probably work at taco bell with TJ :D

I am sure T-Jack would love them too. :dunno:

Ha ha more than likely.

Im sure he would love all the chrome bling bling that you have on your truck as well, shoot he might even try and cap some of his teeth with the chrome bug deflector. :D

    • Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.
    • I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.
    • I have these on two vehicles and love them. Pepper is one of them 😉
    • 4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.
    • 2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
