Replacing a belt over pullies, etc.

Is there a "trick" or a right way to do this and make it easy? I currently hate this more than anything.

I'm not sure if I positive about what you're asking...

Are you replacing your main drive belt?

If so put a ratchet on the nut on the idler pully (belt tensioner pully).  If you need more leverage put a small piece of pipe over the ratchet handle.  Put enough leverage against the nut/pully to release the tension on the belt...

You should be able to move the idler puller out of the way enough to remove the old belt and install the new one...
