Oxygen Sensors

Well, the time has come to replace my O2 sensors. What brand do you guys suggest going with? and where will I get the best deal? I found a place that is selling Denso sensors for roughly $44 a piece.

All input is welcome and appreciated!

Blake,

Bosch O2s are great and we (CARQUEST) have sold them for apprx 7 or 8 years. We sold this brand exclusivley for apprx 5 years but now offer OE specific O2 s depending on the application. We offer Bosch, Denso and NTK (an NGK co.) and they are applicated according to the brand that the OE Supplier installed when the vehicle was built. We offer this so there is no cutting or splicing of the connector and the O2 looks and performs exactly like the OE O2.

Without the specifics on your truck, I am guessing your truck was equipped from the OE with Bosch.

If you go with Bosch, do not be surprised when they come out of the box looking used. Bosch "burns in" every O2 sensor as part of a testing process and this makes them looked like they have been used.

Blake,

IMO go with Bosch. To add to what C & A s Dad already stated, every vehcisle I have ever owned that I put Bosch 02 sensors on I have never had to replace the 02 sensors again on that vehicle. The are truely worth the price.

Just curious, all 4 sensors went bad at the same time?

I am throwing codes for pre cats and post cats, so I would assume yes. I could probably get away with doing just pre cats..but I am just going to do all four anyway. 150K now..I think roughly $200 to not worry about it for another 150K is not a big deal =)

I would be looking for what is making these sensors set codes. By the way what exactly are the codes (each sensor can set a few). If they are no activity codes and they are truely bad then something took them out, coolant, very rich condition etc. If you don't take care of that you are probably just throwing money away IMO.
