To Nerf Bar Or Not To Nerf Bar

I'm debating on whether or not nerf bars would look good on my truck. I asked my friends, some said yes, others said no. What are your thoughts? Any recommendations on what brand and where to buy?

Well that looks like a 2wd truck. so really you would only be doing it for the looks.. I have them on the black truck because they were a good price and the wife really needed them to get into the truck...

I need to get them for the D-max for the wife and myself since I have a bad knee!

They don't look bad on some trucks. A common maker is Westin. There are other higher quality steps. It just depends on what you want and can afford to spend.

I really like the N-FABS myself.

I have them on my truck, mostly so my wife and get in and out safely (she's quite short). But I like the look of them, and they are good for a step. I chose the Westin's, though the stock GMC nerf bars also look pretty good.

N-Fabs are really starting to grow on me.

I put the GM running boards on my truck (they're not shown in my sig - I really need to update that...)

I like the look of a running board a lot more than I do the nerf bar. Typically I'd agree that you shouldn't get them unless your truck is lifted, but my fiance wanted them to help her get in and out. And now that they're on there I'm a big fan of the look.

N-FABS are TITS on lifted trucks.

Stock height? Eh...

I just had some Westins put on last week. I do not like them. Had to put them on due to the wife being preggers and needing them for both in- and egress. I wish I had known about the N-Fabs. I saw them on here last night then saw them on a truck this evening. I might just have to order them and sell the Westins on the cheap.

If you want them or need them... Get 'em.

You're going to get so many different views on here about what type of trucks they DO work on or DON'T work on... Do what you want with your truck. If you think they look good, do it. If you need them because the truck sets a little too high, do it. If you need 'em for your wife or mother or mother-in-law... (Ok, well, maybe not the mother-in-law...) Get 'em.

If someone suggested it and you think it's a bad idea... "They just wouldn't look right." Ignore whoever suggested the idea and spend your money on something else.

Post pics of what you do, if you get 'em! :D

I got the "Gladiators" from runningboardwarehouse.com. They look awesome! I'll have to take some pictures later. Some running boards I don't like the look of but its all just personal preference

i think nerf bars are only useful if you have a body lift.

then your nerf bars stay where they are and you actually have to step to get into your cab....

btw mine were on the truck when i bought it
