Dtc P1518 ?

DTC P1518 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Serial Data Circuit. can anyone tell me what this is, what are the trouble shooting tips, or where I can find this info. 2003 4.8, runs fine then throws this code, then when you shut it off and refire no throttle response ( dbw) until you clear this code? Thanks

Was this after a tune was uploaded to the PCM?

DTC P1518 sets if the battery voltage is low or the PCM is replaced/reflashed.

 

If the customers concern is slow cranking or no crank because battery voltage is low, ignore DTC P1518. Clear any DTCs from memory that may have set from the low battery voltage condition.

yes and no on the tune, yes it has been reprogrammed with the hp tuner software, but it was fine until we pulled motor out over the winter and built a new chassis ( rock crawler) when it went back in I had no throttle response, engine would start and idle only with this code? I can clear the code and the dbw works fine as soon as I shut the key off and restart then I have no pedal response?

Check the engine grounds and also the ground at the drivers side behind the kick pad inside, also clean the connectors with electrical cleaner at the TB & the pedal plugs.
