Snow In October?

For the last few days I've been watching the GFS and it showed a strong cold front right behind a low pressure system, that would change rain to snow for the NE. Now on 10-26-08 a nice size Noreaseter is depicted, coming up the coast and has alot of precip with it. 1.25 plus, which would give I-95 and NYC over 12" of snow. This is so rare to see for Oct, less alone to even get any snow in Oct.

So it is plausible that we might have a white halloween this year.

BFG's are awesome in the snow!

Don't worry DV, you'll have plenty of snow to play in this winter. I noticed the storm 4 runs ago, so the GFS hasn't dropped it. You can clearly see on the 24th that the freezing line will be south of NJ and cold air locked in for 48hrs before the storm. If it were to happen, I could see pontential problems with it sticking to roads, but then again cold air will have been in place for 48 hrs.

We're gonna have one hell of a good winter this season. I can smell it in the air.

No seriuosly. The winter will be good because we have been in a -NAO and a nutreul ENSO and the Axis trough have shifted more east which is prime conditions for snow this winter. We will also have average to below average temps this winter and will most likely see alot of clipper systems. And then the Noreasters... The storms that come up the coast and dump snow all on us. It's money falling from the sky for me.

BTW DV, I added a new video to my sig I made today. Yesterday I took down a tree that was leaning on a branch and was dead. I used the ATV's winch and two come alongs to pull it away from it's position, because it would've fallen onto the electrical lines and took them down. It has an extremely heavy birch tree. Anyway the stump seemed loose and I thought i could possibly yank it out (roots and all) with the truck, but as you can see in the video it was a failed attempt. Then I made another exhaust video and blew some leafs on the driveway with the exhaust.

I hope we get a ton of snow this year. Last year sucked, we only had 1 good storm. My Silverado does awesome with the new Michelin LTX tires and I cant wait to try out the new BFG's on the Suburban! I had a blast going through snow banks and climbing up hills in 4WD with snow flying everywhere. HELL YEA! Only thing that sucks is my front license plate now perfectly fits the contour of the front bumper of my truck. Damn snow is denser near the rocks. :jester:

A good amount of snow would be good to see this year. We hardly ever get any snow here.

The caveat would be to keep all the idiots with bald summer tires off the road.

I love winter and snow. I even like driving in snow.

What I don't like is commuting in it and the sloppy roads from it. I also HATE extended periods of below zero weather. I also hate the transitional months (Nov-early Dec and Mar-early Apr).

But I wouldn't change climates for anything.

Seasonal change FTMFW!!!

At least your he-man tires get to fling something other than...nothing

Hell yeah, I live on the other side of the State and we got little snow last year. Everytime it was supposed to snow like crazy we got freezing rain instead
