Where Do You Go Thanksgiving Weekend?

I thought I'd see where everyone goes for T'day. My family and friends go to the desert where we ride our dirtbikes,do a little 4-wheelin' and generally relax by the campfire and enjoy the weekend.Usually we have several families who bring their toy haulers, dirtbikes, sand rails, dune buggies etc.Saturday night we have a pot-luck dinner where each family brings a dish and we set it up in the biggest toy hauler ,open the ramp door, set it up buffet style and we make a line and we all help ourselves to a plate full of chow and sit by the fire and pig out.One guy has a deep frier who cooks the turkey......man I can hardly wait!!!!!

I use my '95 Burb to pull the hauler and carry the grandkids, the DVD player keeps 'em entertained while traveling(about 2 hours)

I don't go anywhere. My wife cooks a big meal, and the family comes over. All the guy's watch football, and the wives stay in the other room. :rollin:

My parents' place in NW Pennsylvania seems to be the usual gathering point for everyone. Food, beer, & football. Goof off over the weekend...then it's the start of deer season on the following Monday.

My parents' place (a few miles across town) for Turkey-Day... Avoid the malls and all shopping-related activities the rest of the time. :rollin:

We either go to my parents or the inlaws, depending on who asks first, and what not. Preasure is on to have it at our place, but I tell everyone I will buy the dinner from boston market or get a party sub from subway. That stops them from asking for a while, my wife thinks she will be ready next year if we get a new house and are all moved in. I like going to someone elses house, then when i get enough family time I can go home. If its at my house I would have to be nice until the last person left then clean up and all that crap.

:rollin: I know what you mean... it's usually at my house. I start playing this song when I want them to leave...

lyrics:

Closing time - time for you to go out, go out into the world.

Closing time - turn the lights up over every boy and every girl.

Closing time - one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer.

Closing time - you don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

Houghton Lake, MI for the end of deer season and some good turkey.

Not far, we go to gaylord 1 or 2 times a month, and to snowmobile in the winter, the damn turkeys walk though our back yard every AM, I keep thinking about getting a permit, that would be good for thanksgiving dinner!

Work. This will be year #9 in a row of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I could have had them off last year, but I figure let the senior guys with kids and such enjoy the holidays so I traded to work.

Good man! My buddies always work those days, but we are all still young and single so they like the overtime. I like staying home and fattening up with the family!

My whole family comes to my parents for T-day. The guys throw a football and watch football while the moms and girls hang out in the kitchen drinking rum. We gorge ourselves on food, then watch football untill we pass out. Then wake up and do it all again.

This year the Longhorns and Aggies play on Tday. If TX keeps up like this it will be a fun way to end the regular season.

Fresh turkey is the best, except for the pieces of shot we have missed. Those sucker run super fast. We ride through Gaylord frequently, past 4 mile road then into town. Can't wait for snow!

Have you rode the new section of trail? how is it? I ride with friends a lot but my wife is not one for the groomed trails, just to rough for her, and to many jackasses.
