OK so I have the squeaky noise where the extended cab door meets the front door. its not that bad. only hear it when the radios not on. now last night it got a bit chilly here, lower 30s. This morning I am driving to work and I hear a metallic clanking coming from the passenger side floor area. this i can hear over the radio. what the heck can it be? it sounds like it could be coming from the back of the engine compartment. anyone else have this problem?

i must say that my 06 after 30k miles was pretty quiet inside. Whats going to happen when it gets really cold here. Am i going to have all kinds of nosies inside? They really bother me.

my ext cab doors were misaligned from the factory, and one wouldn't even close at the top....start there...as for metallic pinging, check the exhaust fitment would be a good starting place (by check, I mean make the dealer check)

it sounds like a heat shield or something of that nature. I am bringing it in soon because the brakes are warped. I will have them check into this as well.

Warped brakes after 500 miles?

I had a similar sound coming from my '07 GMT900 when the temperature dipped to around 40 or colder and I finally tracked down the noise. In my case, it was coming from the passenger side pillar by the windshield (I thought it was coming from below at first). I discovered that the plastic was making a "ticking" or "clicking" noise. When I applied pressure, it would quit so I took a low tech approach to it. I removed the plastic cover and stuffed some old rags behind the plastic piece to tighten up the fit. I put the plastic piece back on and it fixed the problem. It looked the same as before cosmetically. Maybe others have a better solution to this noise. So far, my '08 has not started this yet but it is just now getting cooler here...time will tell.

I have a crew cab so I'm not familar with the other rattle you mentioned.

My biggest pet peeves with any vehicle are noises/rattles so when I notice one, it becomes my mission to remedy the situation.

Just crank the radio up and it makes all the bad sounds go away :D

THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My '08 crew cab has the same issue and the dealer and I have both been chasing it. The noise is there when it is cold and gone when it warms up inside. I will try this fix out.
