06 1500 Hd Hood Question

Hey guys. Do all 2006 1500 silverados have the "bumped up" hood from the HD models? Is it me or does it look out of place? Would a normal hood from a 2005 fit on it?

Yep, they do, and nope, the '05 hood wouldn't fit. If you look at the bottom edge of the '03-'05 hood, it doesn't go straight across in the center like the '06 hood does. You could swap out for an '03-05 hood if you put the '03-05 grille on too. It wouldn't surprise me if someone was willing to trade you straight up, a lot of people like the '06 hood/grille better (myself included).

yea, i love the hd hood on the trucks, really looks good when you lift them...

I love my HD hood and front end but that sucker screams chips. I've probably touched up 10 of them and it's not like I drive behind dump trucks or anything that is noticeably slinging rocks.

Uhh...I won't be Line-Xing my hood. That's a bit over the top...just kidding.

 

I thought about the 3M stuff but I've never done it. I've touched them up and there are some I can't even see now. It's better with age but when I drove it off the lot it must have had some thin paint or something but fortunately it's getting better.
