I have an '07 sierra 1500 ext cab 2wd 5.3

im looking to convert it to a 4wd

and im looking for a parts list maybe even some part numbers

I'm having trouble finding a t-case, or unsure which to choose from. Is a tranny swap needed? I don't have a bench seat so I'd rather go electric. also what modules would be needed also.

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but trading the truck for a 4wd would probably be your best bet (easiest, and probably cheaper too).

No Jeff, 2 + 1 = 3. He said he wants FOUR wheel drive, not three. :P

If I were to convert a 2wd fullsize truck, it would not be to factory 4x4. First, what do you want to do with the truck? Once in a while 4x4 to get around on slick winter streets? Or are you interested in wheeling it like you stole it?

If the first question is you, get some sandbags and some decent tires and your on your way for far less money than making something into something its not.

If the second is your calling, then stock trim 4x4 is never going to work like a purpose built suspension and drivetrain. Im talking link suspension, coils and lockers. do it right!

Well, then all I can say is "good luck"! Make sure you keep us posted on this project. I would be very curious to know how much this will cost...just in parts.

I agree with all thats been said so far.

Trading it in for a 4wd is going to be the easiest, cheapest, and quickest way.

Goodluck!

If you have a locking diff then you're truck is very capable off road. That conversion is going to be killer. Why didn't you just buy a 4x4 when you got this truck?
