Help Wiring 2nd Sub

Alright i have two subs now

10" Diamond Audio D1

12" MTX 5500

I put the MTX sub in my old box and the diamond audio sub in a different box...

anyways should should i run seperate wires to each sub? Or should i run the wires from one sub terminal cup to the other subs terminal cup and then to the amp?

Also what do you guys think on upgrading from 8 Gauge wire to 4 Gauge wire now? its not very much to upgrade plus if i got a new amp it would already be there...

Is the MTX a dual or single voice coil? What are the coils impedance, 2-ohm, 4-ohm, 8-ohm, etc.?

it is a single voice coil 4 ohm

It all depends on the ohm rating on you amp on how you should wire it. I would recommend. positive from amp to positive on positive to sub #1 then negative from the amp to the negative to on sub #2 then run a speaker wire from the negative on sub 1 to positive on sub 2. by doing it this way you ensure that your getting the same amount of watts to both subs.

what about hooking up the 2 voice coils on the D1 sub then running the wires to the amp and then running a different set of wires to the MTX sub?

that way it will provide 2 ohms to the D1 sub and 4 ohms to the MTX sub

By doing this you are bridging your system.. But your amp would need to handle 2 ohms and needs be able to run enough watts.. If it does not than its a recipe for a fried amp in about 6 months...

But it will sound good and as long as you have a warranty its worth a shot!
