Ahhh now this looks familiar!! My 79 was in sad shape too when I decided to fixer up. Took me a couple years but was well worth it in the end. It was a great feeling when I finished it . My truck was handed down to me in high school and has been in the family for just over 20yrs now. Tons of memories are attached to a vehicle when it stays in the family. Good luck, have fun and post progress pics!!

Hey guys, thanks for the words of encouragement!

Chevanator, I don't plan on having this thing "done" for a few years!

Waterboy, this case sounds the same as yours. My dad bought it brand new, my brother drove it in high school, my cousin drove it for a few years, back to me, now my cousin technically owns it, but its back to me. It has been bought and sold for $1 three or four times!

Bad2500hd, thanks for the website info, I've come across lmc but more selection the better.

Merlin, I have all of those except the extra money part (thats why I'm giving myself "years" to complete it)

I plan on rebuilding the 350 4-bolt, but a buddy has a 327 ready to go that I might try to retrofit while the 350 is out. gonna try to do the body work myself, hopefully I can find a whole bed i can work with rather than piecing in bedsides. I might leave the hood on as long as I can as a reminder of the good old days, maybe it will be the last piece. plan on putting a small body lift and maybe a 3" susp. lift. Not really up to snuff on good lifts but I'm OCD on things like this that pique my interest. Def. gonna put the 205 tc and beef up the diffs.

Does anyone know of rear disc brake conversions, or rear coil spring conversions? I'm set to go rescue her in two weeks! I'll try to document that adventure, i'm planning on trying to road it home 130 miles from where it is now, but I may have to trailer it. More later.
