2002 6.0 Vortec Valve Noise

Does anyone else have valve "noise" from 4,000 5,500? From everything I've seen the rockers on these trucks are non-adjustable, correct? Has anyone else switch to adjustable rockers and got rid of the valve tick or is there another solution? Thanks in advance.

What you might be hearing is the fuel injector poppets

doing their thing. All 3 of my 6.0s had what I thought

was a "lifter tick". The dealer said normal. One dealer

even let me use a stethoscope to probe around the

intake and valve covers.

 

Sho' nuff'............It was the injectors!

Mine's done the same thing since it was new. Dealer said no problem, and after 149k miles, no problem.
