Do you think an '08 3500HD DRW 4X4 Durramax Silverado needs rear airbags to pull a 5th wheel toy hauler? A friend of mine has an f350 SRW and he swears by them. I don't think I need 'em. What do you guys think?

Guess that would depend on the hitch weight of the trailer you're pulling.

Given that you're using a 3500HD DRW, I wouldn't think you would need the rear air bags.

I'd say more for ride comfort than more strength since you have the 3500HD. And depending on how heavy your 5th wheel is, it'd mainly be to level out the bed if you wanted. I have seen some F-250/350s that sag with just travel trailer on thats not that big. And they were pretty new.

Yeah I have seen some F250s sagging like someone dropped a house on them pulling bobcats that weigh about 6000lbs... My truck doesnt sag like that and its just a 2500

You should decide on air bags only after hooking up your fully loaded trailer. At that point you can see how much it sags. Mark.
