Took Her In.....sorry Long Story Here.

So here's the story.

I had a 8:00am appt on Monday morning. I had her there at 7:15 AM. My rack and pinion was leaking, and my leather seat cover is slipping. Service writer says he's going to do the recall for the heated fluid also.

I told him what ever, sounds good to me. I told him I pulled the fuse and left it in the center con tray. He says...OK.

I hear nothing all day. At 5 pm I call them and they say it will not be ready because they did not get it in the shop until 11:30??????

So, Tuesday rolls around, and I hear nothing until about 3:40 pm. He says they changed the R&P but now they have a Check Stabilatrack Message. He says the "Tech" (and I use that term real loose) says it's my leveling kit causing the problem.....

WHAT?????? Ahhhh I don't think so. I brought you a truck with a leaking R&P, and it did not have check light on when I left it. I asked what it it flagging? He says he's not sure....? He'll call me back in a little while.

He calls me at 6:00 pm says I'm good to go now. It was a Steering input sensor. I go up there and she's sitting in the drive thru waiting for me. They changed the R&P did the recall and they thought they fixed the seat....No Fix On The Seat..They forgot...!

So I pop the hood, he says "is there something wrong?" No just looking. When I get the hood open there's my major wiring loom connector from the fuse box just laying there not even secured back into the fender holes.

I show it to him and he says....OH...And trys for like 10 mins to get it back in the holes. He calls the shop forman. He takes her back to the shop to pull the fuse box to be able to plug the big white connector back in it's place under the fuse box.

So they bring her back in 20 mins. All set he says. I get in, and first thing I see is the yellow 60 amp fuse laying in the cup holder tray area.

I look at the paperwork and item 3 says "Performed recall for heated washer fluid and ops chk good"

I get back out, pop the hood and he says "NOW WHAT?" Just looking at something. He asks again, "what's wrong?" I asked if the paperwork is correct. He says yes!

I pop the fuse cover off, and sure enough. No fuse in the block for the heated washer fluid....

I asked the service writer how did the tech ops check the heated fluid system if the fuse is not even installed? He gave me the deer in the headlights look....!

I asked to speak to the tech...No can do. He's gone for the day! Yea right!!!!

So now I'm really pissed off. I push the fuse in myself, put the cover back on. I open the door to get in, and there's this spring that looks like a spring from a ball point pen that continues into a straight shaft thur the center of the spring. It's laying on the driver side floor mat.

I pick it up ask the guy what's this? He says it must be from the steering wheel position sensor. I said the new one, or the old one? He says "I DON'T KNOW"

What the hell kind of answer is that?

He says "well there's no light on now so it must be from the old sensor...!"

I ask ya....Is there any dealer in this US of A that has tech's that even give a crap about someones $43,000 truck anymore?

Not in my parts of North Texas!

Thank you for your time....

Next time, just deal directly with the service manager. I started doing that with my truck and things did start getting fixed. Good dealer though, it's just that particular service writter didn't seem to care. Never followed up on issues or made sure it was done right.

Or... just find another dealer. If available of course.

Your truck is not really a $ 43k truck. They discount them $ 10k for a very good reason. Marginal quality and even more marginal service all built in. At no additional cost to you.

Sorry your dealer is so bad. Some dealers just dont care about the service they provide after the sale I guess...give me your money and go away... The service dept is what represents the dealer long after you purchase a vehicle....and if the service sucks then you wont go back because the dealer sucks! Word of mouth will kill business quick! Pretty simple concept but apparently some of them dont get it. I have been lucky with my dealer no complaints....

That sucks man. It sure does seem like its hard to find people that care about other peoples things, be it a vehicle, or house or anything else. I am so careful and thorough when we go to someones house (cabinets and countertops), I just dont know how some people have no clue and dont seem to care.

This is not the case with all or even the majority, Im sure, but enough that it seems like that sometimes.
