Fabtech Install

...its still being installed. :o) LOTS of work, but going smoothly. Started today at 8am, wrapped up at 2:30 to clean up and get ready to go out for dinner. I will start again and probably finish tom AM. I did all of the hard stuff already....hopefully. The kit is great so far, very nicely designed. I did have to cut a piece off the front diff, and sand a few areas for clearance. Also had to cut 3" off of each rear lower control arm pockets. Here is a few pics...

Got everything together the night before:

Should be a proud day tomorrow, if not all my pride will be lost. HAHA, actually if I have to take a 3rd day, I don't care. Took off all week just in case!!

Thanks Brian. This is my first lift, and I have wanted a full-size lifted truck since I was 5. My mom actually showed me one of my x-mas lists. Sure enough, thats what I wanted. 20 years later I am finally able to do it so these last few days have felt like Christmas to me!! The wheels are actually Procomp 8188's. Not my first choice, but I like them.

Holy crap, think you coulda jacked up the front end any higher? :idiot:

Looks like it's coming along nicely, I'm really excited to see how it looks all finished. :rollin:

Did you get the front suspension finished or just the tear down??

Just the tear down, but its ready for the new stuff first thing tomorrow. I had to do some cutting/grinding so I took my time and to be honest, this is my 1st time ever messing with suspension so I am taking my time.

I thought the same thing, but honestly, its not high enough. To make the cuts, I had to sit up under the truck. Then dropping the front diff was a bitch. I work out quite a bit but when I released that last bolt...felt like I was benching about 200lbs. That beeeotch is heavy.

Are you posting this on GMFS too?? Yeah I got to get my post count up over there too! :rollin:

HAHA, sure why not. I am just going to copy this post there, but I will pretend like I don't know you!

Looking Good Justin!!! :rollin: Your really going to like the lift! I'm debating about going to black wheels myself. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks man. Your truck, amongst others were my inspiration. Like I said, this is one of my dreams coming true. Doing it myself makes it that much better. I can totally understand why they charge 700+ to install these things now. Lots of work!!

Slow start today...apparently, not a lot of places can press out some bushings on a strut :rollin: Finally found a shop that could do it. Now back to the install....
