Tow Mirrors

I have a 08 2500HD and want to install tow mirrors. The current mirrors are heated, auto dimming, power adjusting and power folding. Does anyone know what GM towing mirror is the right one? On gmpartsdirect.com I found part # 19158392. Is this the best option? Will I lose any features? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I think you will loose the power-folding. Heated/dimming/power adjusting will still be there.

Can't confirm the part number though...sry.

And welcome!

If you post your VIN I can give you the part number for the GM accessory towing mirror kit,It will give you everything you need....mirrors,switch,any harness's needed, instructions, etc.

If you get the towing mirrors you will lose the auto tilt for reverse, you will lose the auto light senseing, you will lose the power folding option.

You will retain the turn signals and the remote adjustment of the upper portion and the heated/defrost.

So it is up to you as to what you would want to do. I bought my truck with the towing mirrors installed from the factory so I did not have to worry about losing the above features and I gained the turn signals when I compare the old truck to my new truck so I was better off in my mind. I could care less about the power folding option. Auto dim feature is nice and the auto tilt in reverse can be delt with by adjusting the bottom convex mirrors to help with backing.

I hope this helps ya.

Please Help!!!

A quick update: I bought the mirrors (19158392), installed them myself :seeya: , and had the dealer program the DDM with the Trailer/Tow Mirror software… everything was going good until now! I moved 3500 miles away from the place that did the re-programming and noticed that every time I used my preset button the right side mirror would point towards the sky! No matter how many times I tried to re set it, it would point up! :smash: So, I took it into the dealer here in FL and asked if they could fix it. They tried to reprogram it and lost all functions of the mirrors! Then they told me that there is a bulletin saying the mirrors can’t be programmed! :P Is this true? If so, how did the first dealer program them? Does anyone know what program this new dealer should be looking for? Maybe I should have never took it in and just lived with the quirky right mirror!

Weird. I put them on my '07 1500, replacing the style you mentioned, and never had an issue, never even had to have them programmed. They just worked!

The same set is going on my '09 HD to replace the DL3 mirrors as well. Keep us posted.

I've seen other folks report that happening when switching out over to the tow mirrors when I was researching swapping over to them from the power fold type that came on the truck....must be a quirk in the NBS trucks, I did that exact swap out when I had my 05 & had no problems like that at all... :(

I ended up giving the new dealer the old dealers name and they figured it out! I guess the old dealer knew how to get it programmed. I now have the truck back and everything seems to work. I never got to read the bulletin so I’m not sure what it said. They had my truck for a total of 4 days! I’m just happy to have my truck back!

I'm having the same trouble and have been to two dealers who couldn't figure it out over 5 different days. Can you pass along your old dealer's info? I'd like to have my truck working again. thanks........Z

The dealer in Bremerton, WA was Haselwood 800-236-3406, the dealer in Titusville, FL was Pat Fischer Chevy (321) 269-3311. Good Luck!
