Xm - Sirius Merger

So I thought I'd give the merger a chance... Here is my assessment:

Pros:

Better comedy channels

Cons:

Lithium is by far inferior to Lucy... and I miss Ethel as well

So far, the cons outweigh the pros for me... just my 2 cents

Yup, realize that it has been brought up a few times, but thought rather than dig up an oldie, I'd add my opinion in a new topic...

Maybe XMSirius would get the hint this way, probably not....

Anyway, just my opinion on the topic anew...

The company is on it's death bed anyway, I'm hoping it goes under so that they can fix their entire business model:

1) The channel lineup -- why have sirius as a weird add-on?

2) Screw Howard and the ridiculous $$ they paid for sports -- the company can redo the contract so that they don't get soaked.

3) Fix the pricing!!!! It's $12.95, no wait, its $10.95 with a coupon, no wait, it's $77 a year if you have a different coupon and complain. Maybe have an a la carte system where people can pay an extra $5 month for toilet humor, otherwise it's $5 for music.

The base annual fee for the privilege of using the system should be in my opinion $ 25. If somebody wants to listen to $ 100 million base salary/year + multi million dollar bonuses Howard Stern and enjoy his humorless, profanity laced monologue, it's should be "only" $ 100/year extra.

Let's see how long will this character continue getting this kind of money if this scheme is implemented.

I decided to go with XM because Sirius had paid a ridiculous amount of money for that idiot, Howard Stern. Shortly after I signed up, XM paid about as much money for another idiot, Oprah Winfrey. Now that they've merged, I figure that I'm probably paying $2 or $3/month for these two worthless channels.

I called and had them enable content blocking on the Oprah channel for me...

The agent's reaction was priceless...

it's my passive-aggressive streak in lodging a complaint.
