Hey all,

I just took delivery of my new Sierra -- it's a basic 4x4 WT with the towing and plow package. I had the dealer add the DIC panel -- which was news to him! :) So far, it's an excellent truck. I would like opinions on a couple of things:

1. what is the best nerf bars? (My little one is a little too little! :D )

2. what are your opinions of bed rugs vs. hard liners vs. spray-on?

3. Do you have suggestions for a cap or Tonneau Cover?

Thanks for your suggestions!

best,

John

Welcome to the site, and congrats on the new truck. :)

I have no experience with nerf bars, so I can't help you there.

As far as bed liners, goes, search, there have been some pretty good fights... I mean discussions on bed liners. :M16: One thing that I think everyone can agree on is that over-the-rail plastic drop-in liners wreak havoc on the paint on your bed rails.

Tonneau covers is another thing you'll find a lot of info on in the search feature. I have an Extang Tuff Tonneau soft cover, and I like it. The only thing I would do differently is get the full tilt tonneau, which is the same cover, it just tilts up for easier access to the bed.

Welcome to the ZOO!

Westin makes pretty good and not too expensive Nerf Bars for most any truck out there. I like Pendaliner drop in liners myself for good inexpensive protection and a lot of folks like Line-X for spray ins. Bed rugs are great if you aren't going to haul a lot of "rough stuff". They look really good too.

I'm not much help on the tonneau cover.

Like Dan says, there is a lot of info on these subjects if you do a search using the search link at the top right of the page.

I like your truck! :)

N Fab is probably one of the best quality and strongest made too... if you don't mind their prices!

Welcome aboard :) Your truck is nice. I like the rc trucks. Like mentioned previously, you can find a lot by just using the search feature.

spray in vs plastic liners?

why argue, plastic might rub the paint. Spray in has to have it scuffed and covered permanently anyway. Theyre both good. Just never take the drop in liner out!

I've had some hard times using the search feature on this site. It seems the more specific you go the harder it is to get this search to work. What you can also try is a google site search. If you search "bed liner spray-in site:www.gm-trucks.com" it will use the google engine to search all pages in the gm-trucks domain. It's what I use for any searching online anymore.

Welcom to the site.
