Tires For 06 Crew Cab

I have an 06 stock Silverado Crew Cab LT3. I have 23,000 miles and the OEM tires will need replacing very soon. I do not drive my truck hard. In town and some interstate. No off road use. No pulling trailer.

Certainly not satisfied with life of OEM tires 245/70R17 General Ameritrac. Tire looks are unimportant. I keep tires properly inflated to about 38 psi and rotate every 5K

Looking for better tire life for sure and ideally low noise after that. Live in Alabama so no snow considerations.

I've never owned a truck before thsi one so I've never bought truck tires. Any candidates that I should look at would be helpful.

I don't have any experience with purely on-road tires, but give the search feature a shot, I'm sure you'll find a bunch of stuff. That said, I was pretty satisfied with my Bridgestone Dueler Revos as a mild all terrain tire, and I've heard good things about the Michelin LTX MS.

Michelin LTX M/S. I got over 70k miles on my '95 Nissan pickup from these and they still had some tread left.

BF Goodrich Long Trails are working out good for me on my 05. My driving is similar to yours. They are a bit more affordable than the Michelins (which I've heard nothing but great things about). I have also read some good reviews for milage as well for the BFG's.

I got a similar truck. My General Ameritracs have lasted to 33K. I am picking up some Bridgestone Dueler Tires from a friend that has an 07 Z71 (Classic) since he is changing his up to 'mud boggers'. If you have a discount tire store in your area, you should have a wide range selection of what type of tire you would like to get. Personally, I would not keep the P245/70/R17 size as they are too skinny for me. If you want a wider contact tire, you can go with P265/65R17 and they will not cause any speedometer issues. If you want to stick with the OEM size, try BF Goodrich, Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S, or Goodyears. Good Luck

Thanks for the help. Normally I like Michelins but not sure I want to pay $185/tire for general driving.

I'll look at the others you've recommended and hopefully get something that will last longer than the Ameritracs.
