I have recently traded my 96 impala ss 5.7 lt1 for a 2000 gmc sierra 3500 SL with 84,000 k, 6 inch super lift and new bfg 35's. I was wondering if its worth it to install a kn FIPK intake ? or to just drop in a kn air filter into the stock intake box?

thanks for your time everyone and I am honored to be a member of "gmtrucks.com"

thanks,

Jason,

What size engine are you running? The reason I ask, is that IMO the bigger engines (i.e. 6.0, 7.4, and 8.1 liter) get more use out of a FIPK than the smaller engines do. And I assume you are doing some towing, there again, IMO you will get more actual use out of FIPK when towing hard, ecspecially with the bigger V8 engines like listed above.

So in short, if you have the extra cash to drop, I would say go for it. But if you are looking to do only one thing to your truck for performance, you cant beat a tune from a company like Blackbear. There are many others out there and there are several other folks on this board that has them from one tuner or another.

I hope this helps.
