I know its been asked before as to which is best but not in a poll...I just want to know which oil you guys use and why...

 

I have the 5.3 and I use Castrol GTX...

 

If there is an oil I missed...mention it and I will put it in the poll...

I use Mobil 1 5W30 in my truck,And regular Pennzoil 5W30 in my Saturn.

I checked Castrol Syntec, but that would be European formula, made in Germany 0W30 group 1V synthetic, only available from Autozone.

Superior lubrication for the duration of today's extended oil change intervals. Why not use the best available lubruication in an expensive new truck?

 

If you choose to do old school 3000 mile oil changes, I don't think there is any advantage.

 

I currently run Mobil1 and OEM filters at 5000 mile change intervals.

If you do a search, there are countless posts and threads on synthetic oil to dino oil. Everyone has their reasons for using what they use, and to each their own. I personally use synthetic oil for better lubricity during cold engine start up, and less breakdown at the higher temps. As oil is the lifeblood of the engine, may as well take care of it.

I use 5w30 Valvoline Max-life synthetic blend with a Pure One oil filter by Purolator. I change it every 3K, which is around every 2 month's. Summa bitch should run forever.

I choose this option, as I believe CLEAN oil is the best oil.

 

Valvoline 5W30 conventional every 3000 miles FTW!!!
