Un-pimp My Rod

Well here is my truck before I purchased it and exactly as it stands right now. The condition is near perfect and exceedingly low miles. The previous owner loved this truck and pampered it in all ways, but like a pet owner that accessories their Scotty dog, went a wee bit too far. Dare I say the brothels of Budapest are more subdued (so I am told). Please attack my decor with opinion and advice. I already removed all of the decals from the back window. Flame on.

BTW, is it even possible to buy uglier mirrors? I definitely need a make over.:cry:

I already pulled the stickers and the lower back up lights are gone. The headache rack is very nice steel construction, but I will be getting a 990 Artic Fox slide in camper so it will have to go.

Lose the visor, cab spoiler, rods on the front bumper, mudflaps (if you don't need them), and the running boards. Maybe the diamond-plate bedrails too.

KEEP THE VISOR!!!

I agree on getting rid of the cab spoiler and bumper guides though

Question. Are you willing to do anything with the paint? If not, and you start pulling stuff off, you will be worse off than before you started.

If you are, then lets begin.

Very first thing is the clearance light rods on the bumper. Good Bye!

The hood...I'm not a big fan of the cowl on your truck, but it's not bad. One of the two need to go though, either the bug deflector or the hood. They don't go together.

If you keep the hood I say lose the visor and head ache rack. They don't complement each other.

What do you do with the truck? Did you get it because you haul a trailer (I assume)? I like mud flaps on a dually, I don't think they look right without them. I also, don't mind the diamond plate. It all depends on what you do with the rest of the truck.

As far as paint goes, I love the GMT400 trucks, because there are so many things you can do with them and they will look good (solid, two-tone, graphics, etc).

Give us an idea of what it will be used for and we can better give you ideas.

I look forward to seeing the progress!

Yep, needs some re-accessorizing.

I'd drop the visor, cab spoiler, the rack on the rear window, bumper guides, all the diamond plating (replace with LineX). I'd be tempted to remove the tailgate lights. I'd keep the bug shield, but give it a good polishing with a plastic polish. The two-tone paint is fine. I'd replace the mud flaps with something different. As for the classic camper mirrors, I'm sure there are better alternatives. Get the gauge pod colour matched with the interior.

You mean rookie sticks??

I'd ditch the racerback/headache rack deal, and the running boards.

I've never needed them, that's why I don't know what they're called.

Not sure, but does it have a Flowmaster?:lol:

First Q that came to mind... "Un-pimp My Rod" - does your lady not like the new Viagra, is it too much for her?
