What Kind Of Crazy Great Deals You Seeing?

First, I absolutely love my current ride (2004 2500HD 4x4, LT with 8.1/Allison). But with all the crazy deals out there I'm beginning to ponder a new purchase.

Hunting buddy said he landed a new 1500 CC for close to $10k off sticker, 0% financing for 5 years AND they paid tax and license...and this was in August!

Wondering what kind of smoking deals people are seeing from GM dealers these days?

Yes, I'm going to get screwed on my trade in, or might have to take less if I sell myself. Just wondering what is out there?

Sounds strange, but prices are actually rising a bit in our area (Austin). In October people were in a panic about the economy, gas prices were high, and NOBODY was buying a truck. Sales were the lowest in years, and dealers were getting desperate to move their old inventory. With some heavy negotiating I bought a 2008 Silverado $13k off sticker. With gas at $1.39 locally, truck sales are actually improving and dealers aren't so inclined to move lower than their posted "Red Tag" pricing. Conditions in your market may differ, but around here the best deals were made in Oct/Nov. The Dodge dealers are still promoting aggressively, but genuine steals are hard to find on the Chevy/GM lots.

My wife's uncle bought an '08 1/2 ton crew cab 5.3L V8, 20" wheels, towing package, etc. Nice truck. 40% off MSRP - about 5 weeks ago in Houston.

My father's college roommate's daughter's step-mother's first husband's adopted child's babysitter got a good deal on one.

Just go talk to your dealer. It doesn't matter how cheap someone else got one for. i wasn't able to get near the deal on my truck that most people claim on here. But I still like my truck.

I got ripped off back in June. But the nearest dealership is 2.5 hours away and if I bought somewere else and needed warrenty work done at the local dealer my truck would be on the bottem of the list. So that played a big role in my decision. Also the problem is there is to much friggen money in this town and the dealerships owner knows it.

I got 9K off when I bought my truck back in mid August. I had been looking for a new truck since June. I wanted 10K off sticker + 0%, none of my local Chevy/GMC dealers would even entertain the idea. There reason was because the 0% would save me 6-7K.

So I walked away from each of them, screw them. I ended up finding the exact truck I wanted about 80 miles away from where I live. I took the Employee Pricing + Cash back. And they offered me the best trade in for my old (02 Sierra) anywhere. Plus, I didn’t want to get stuck with the leftover 08.

Man, I would have loved the 0% + 10K off or even better the 40% off sticker. My local Dodge dealer had 50% off all 08 Dodge Rams (including Mega Cabs). I took a look at one fully loaded with a sticker of about 60K. But it was ugly from the inside and out. Glad I held off for my truck.

Talked to my man today. They have loads of $$$ off 2008's but nothing much on the 2009's. I'm looking for the 6.2L / 6spd combo, so I'm pretty much out of the game.

He quoted me $11k off an 08, but GM is not wanting to do any financing. Must get my own.

So it looks like I will be keeping the Big Block and paying her off in March. It will be nice not to have a payment! And the ext warranty will take me another 40k miles! So I got that going for me. Thanks for the feedback.

Just got my wife her Christmas present. An 08 Sierra 1500 Crew SLE2. 10+ off sticker (2700 dealer fluff dropped) and I got KBB book for my 98k mile trade which was a lot more than the other dealers.

Going shopping today for running boards and a folding cover.
