Horn Replacement

I am new to this forum and am looking for a little help. My horn went out and I am wondering how to replace it and what is a proper replacement horn for a '01 2500HD. I originally thought that it went out because my battery needed replacing. Well, I put in new battery and horn is still out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I had an '01 2500 HD.

There are actually 2 horns. One each below the headlight and behind the bumber.

Crawl underneath and look in front of the tire and up.

The location seems to lead them to being ruined by water/mud/salt/whaterver.

Mine would blow the horn fuse, figured out the passenger side one was bad by taking both off and testing with 12v from battery using a short jumper. The bad one would just click and short out, the good would honk of course.

Anyway, not hard to remove, just the bolt holding the bracket on and the wire connection.

I ran with just one horn until I got a salvage yard replacement. (it had a warranty!)

thanks! that helped. After the info about there being two horns, i thought they couldn't possibly go bad at the same time so i checked the fuse..... blown.
