Would like to know what the capacity is full to the top of the filler neck if possible. I have logged 27.2g, but it wasn't dry. 4x4 short bed reg cab.

Thanks

Seems to me I remember the tank capacity being 32 gallons. Of course, I measure in dollars to fill now-a-days...

the tank itself is 26 gallons.

the ext cab trucks you could get a 34

and a suburban you could get a 40+ tank

so if you put in 27 gallons then your tank was almost completely empty

I picked up a 90 model last year. ( just to toy with ) It was a 1500 reg cab. The most fuel I could sqeeze into it at once from dead empty was 32.5 gallons. Once gas hit $4.00 a gallon I sold it and got a "won ton" with a 454 and a bigger belly. I just love givin cash to those damn camel jockeys!

My moto? Drive large, and leave an even bigger carbon footprint! :tumbleweed:

Our farm truck is a 1991 Cheyenne Reg cab with reg bed and the 4.3 V6. I have filled it when it was pretty empty and got sick of standing at the pump (slow pump) at 36 gallons. I figure ours has a 40 gallon tank...but for sure.
