Hey guys, I have a question concerning the 4x4 option on my truck 2003 2500 HD

I was doing some hunting and locked in the 4x4 on the floor and I only had the left front wheel spinning when coming up a steep muddy hill??? Would this be correct? Should both sides be locked in and spinning or should it act like the rear locker like a limited slip differential? As far as I know the right front passenger side never locked in or spun.

It is functioning correctly, the front differential is open, with no locking or limited slip function. It would actually be incredibly detrimental to the longevity of the front end components. Thats why very few manufactures offer any kind of traction aiding devices to the front axle of 4x4s. Severe binding during turns is the problem.

So your saying the right front wheel is not geared at all and never receives any power to it?

No,

Power will be delivered to both wheels. The downside to the open differential is that the power is transfered to only one wheel when the other one encounters resistance. Hence the one wheel spinning.
