regcab02HD Posted March 16, 2002 Posted March 16, 2002 I've decided to get the 265/75/16 Super Swamper TrXus tires. I've decided on this size because I don't want anything to rub and I don't want to worry about the speedometer being off a hole lot. Now I need some help on the wheels. If I get 16x8s, do you think they will be too wide for the 265s. If they are, I'm goin to stick with stock forged aluminum wheels.
dougs z71 Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 I just put 16x8 wheels on my truck with the stock 265/75/16 tires and they look great. The tires look wider. they would look perfect if I better tires like the ones your getting .. My firestones suck.
chevy4x4trucks Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 You don't need new wheels for the 265's, heck, just got my 305's mounted on my stock cast aluminum rims. But, you won't have any problems w/ a 16x8 wheel and a 265 tire.
Badassilverado Posted March 19, 2002 Posted March 19, 2002 I just put new 16x8's on my truck (with stock tires), and the wheels have a negative offset so the wheels stick out about 2-3in more than the stock stance (and about 1in from the body). You should have no problem and it should work great. My pics are below if you want to see.
