Question About Halo Projection Lights

hey guys,

im looking at some new headlights... probably going with projection. some have halo rings, some do not. the units without halo's seem to be a simple plug n play swap of the originals. My question is what powers the halo rings on some units?

I had Halos at one time and you just wire them up with your running lights, so their on whenever your running light are on. I got mine off eBay and didn't like them because the projector bulbs that came in them are fog light bulbs and don't put out enough light. I tried getting new bulbs but nothing was bright enough. I drive a lot in the country and that just didn't work out for me so I had to put the factory back on. The Halo rings looked awesome though!!!

Personally I think the Halo's look cheesy. If you do go with projectors, you should put HID's in there

I have to agree, IMO, the only way they look good is if they come factory on BMW's, I am not a fan of the aftermarket ones.

More than likely they will not be prewired. I ran mine in with the parking lights so that I could turn the headlights off and still have the halos on. I didn't like the white halo either so changed mine to red. Its all about what you like. Its YOUR truck after all.

I agree with most of what is said; I think they look good, but the ones on my old *cough* Civic put out hardly any light. Definately want to go with HID. But to answer your question, if they are not prewired, they have a red and black wire that you can hook to anything. I had mine hooked to the parking lights so i could have them on without the headlights like iminaquagmire.

i see... sounds easy enough. Im still on the fence about getting a set with halo's or not.

Personally not a fan of either of them. I don't think the black housings will go with your truck unless you get black parking lights. Even then its iffy.

i will for sure be getting black parking lights with them. black contrasts really well with this colour. imo anyways.. my tailights are black and my third brake light will be soon also. as well as the gmc emblem.
