Hey Guys, So I changed the oil in my '04 Silverado a couple weeks ago and reset the oil life section in the DIC. I also reset the personal trip meter to keep track of my 3K-5K miles between changes. A few days ago I had to have the thermostat replaced at the local shop here as some of you may have read about. So last night I notice the personal trip meter had reset to zero since I had gotten it back from the shop. I just thought maybe I had done it accidentally and blew it off. Tonight I take the family out, and while I'm driving the DIC switches from English to Spanish which was comical at the time considering we had just entered South Omaha, or "Little Mexico" as it's affectionately known. But, after I set it back to english and it started jumping all over the place switching between languages and sections. I can set it back to english but it keeps going haywire after a bit.

The speedometer is also not reading right. It's reading way low and bouncing like it's catching. I'm thinking that may just be because of the cold weather and then it heating back up abit today. I know the old trucks would do that as grease in the speedometer cable changed with the weather.

To tell you the truth I'm getting pretty fed up with this pickup. It doesn't even have 40K on it yet and I've had, am having all kinds of problems.

03 and 04 clusters are now warranted to 7 years or 70,000 miles. Take it to the dealer. :D

They extended the warranty on this part because of the defect was so prevalent

You guys were right. The dealer checked it out and decided it was covered under the new protection extension plan. The new cluster will be here in a couple days for installation.

Thanks Fellas

Awesome!... Glad the dealership took care of you. Sorry about your troubles, some times you get a great one, and some times you don't. I had next to no issues with my 03 for 60,000 miles other than the standard slip yoke, intermediate steering shaft

Good luck, hope it gets better for you.
