Part #25965167

I had someone give me a part number of what they believe to be their onstar/bluetooth module. The part number is 25965167. However he says that the module did not have a bluetooth symbol and it did not say bluetooth on it. Can anyone tell me what this part number is exactly? I searched gm parts direct and all it says is MODULE. Also, does anyone know the return policy on buying something like this from GM Parts direct?? Any info would be appreciated. If someone can find out I will try to replace my onstar module in my 06 sierra with this and I will push the button and say bluetooth to see if it works.

additionally, I tried searching an 07 trailblazer onstar module part # 15934200 and it comes up as MODULE with a cheaper price...maybe this is it????

I'm still skeptical that the 07-08 have a mfr designed capability for BT. But, I'm sure hoping you're lead turns out to be correct. Please keep us posted.

well I'm trying to install this into an 06 truck but using the hardware from a trailblazer or envoy. These are still manufactured on the architecture from the gmt800s and do not use any additional buttons or a new mirror. I'm not sure how it works in the gmt900.

Any progress on this?

Does anyone have an 09 Trailblazer with Bluetooth who can see if what the part number of their onstar VCIM is?

Something I found in repair manual documentation:

"The vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) has a specific set of unique numbers that tie the module to each vehicle. These numbers, the 10-digit station identification (STID) and the 11-digit electronic serial number (ESN), are used by the National Cellular Network and OnStar® to identify the specific vehicle. Because these numbers are tied to the vehicle identification number of the vehicle, you must never exchange these parts with those of another vehicle."

Yes, when you swap VCIM you have to reprogram the onstar system in the car with a Tech2... during that process it also initiates a call to onstar so you can correctly associate the new VCIM's STID and ESN to the car.

If you continue reading in the repair manual you'll see that in the documentation. VCIM swaps aren't a big deal.

YEP, that is correct. When GM was doing conversions on the Onstar system to retrofit them with digital receivers for the compatible vehicles, they would routinely have to call Onstar, reprogram the vehicle so that it all matched. I saw this on a weekly basis when GM sent the letters out to customers who's vehicles could be upgraded from the analog to digital hardware.

as for the OP, I have no idea as I never really fudged with the Onstar system itself.

I have an '09 Envoy with the BT... I'll go out in a bit and see if I can pull the P/N off the VCIM.

That would be awesome!

Also - there may be an external bluetooth antenna... I dunno if you find the p/n of it too, but if you can at least see if there is one or not.

Thanks!

Here ya go! Looks like this is a different part number, though I think this may be the manufacturer (LG) part, not the GM part number. I can't verify that, though.

I didn't see evidence of an external antenna for BT, but I'm not 100% certain what all of the wiring harnesses go to so it's possible there is one. I'll have to take another look to be sure.

For reference, this VCIM is in the 2009 Envoy Denali in my sig.

It doesn't seem like GMPartsDirect has any 2009 listings yet...
