I Want To Buy A Yukon Xl Denali

Here's the deal. I got a line on a 2006 Yukon XL Denali, White (what I wanted), with 42,xxx miles. It's loaded as most Denali's are. From the pics I've seen of it it's been well taken care of. NADA says $23,300 and the guy is asking $20,500.

My questions are: What is your opinion of this model year? Any major problems I should expect? Is the 6.0 motor reliable? Anything else you can think of I should know?

That's almost exactly what I got a month and a half ago. Year, model, color, miles, approx. price are the same. I got mine GM Certified. So far the only issues w/ mine are:

1. The remotes (entry) are finicky (this wasn't problem w/ my 05 Sierra, so I am assuming the Denali's were just used a lot);

2. The CD changer doesn't work/doesn't respond (the stereo display reads all the info you'd expect when there's an actual CD in there but the lights on the buttons are not lit indicating a CD(s) is/aren't in there);

3. One set of the wireless headphones don't work for the rear seat DVD player;

4. I may need the steering rack replaced because the brake pedal jumps/resists when the brake pedal is hit strongly and quickly (TSB).

All minor inconveniences that I can work with during the next year of the Certified warranty. However, I'm very disappointed that the dealership didn't take care of all these issues during the "certification". That and my tags were nearly $600 on a three-year-old vehicle...

Otherwise, the engine is strong (although a gas guzzler). The AWD is awesome (I CAN'T spin the tires or get it loose (at least not beyond recoverable). The NAV and touchscreen are sweet. The controls/functionality are easy. Plus, mine came w/ factory 20's. So far, I am pleased.

Take it for what it's worth since it's only been a month and a half.

Thanks for the reply. Just what I'm looking for. What kind of gas mileage do you get?
